I photograph what feels real—city streets, quiet moments, and the raw energy of life itself. Film keeps it grounded, honest, and a little unpredictable. It’s about finding those in-between moments: the way the light hits a wall, a fleeting glance, or a scene waiting to be noticed. No staged perfection—just life, unpolished and unscripted, captured as it unfolds.

Agadez, Niger - January 2023
For the past three years, I've had the privilege of collaborating with Mdou Moctar, documenting our journey together through photography, video, and audio recordings. This partnership has taken me across borders and deserts, offering an inside look at a band whose music is deeply rooted in the culture and history of the Tuareg people. Along the way, I’ve captured performances, quiet moments on the road, and everyday life, weaving their story through film.
Beyond the visuals, I’ve also had the honor of assisting in engineering their album Funeral for Justice, contributing to the sound and vision of a project that resonates with their message. These years have been filled with creativity, connection, and a shared journey through music and new worlds—an experience that continues to shape my work.
Maninka
In 2023, I embarked on a journey to Agadez and Niamey in Niger, a country whose landscapes, culture, and people captured my lens and spirit. My purpose was clear: to document the band Mdou Moctar—both through sound and image—but what unfolded was far more expansive. Niger became the main character in this story, with the music Agadez as the vessel carrying its heartbeat and soul.
My forthcoming photo book, Maninka, which simply translates to “Hello” from their dialect of the Tuareg language Tamasheq, invites you into moments of everyday life, intertwined with the vibrant music community of the Tuareg people. From desert markets to intimate performances, these images reveal a world where tradition and creativity thrive in harmony. Through each frame, I hope you’ll hear the echoes of guitars, feel the pulse of rhythm, and witness the resilience and beauty of Niger.
